Kibbutz: We don't want Arabs
Kibbutz members planned to bribe Arab family who wanted to move to Jewish community

http://www.ynetnews.com/articles/0,7340,L-3194506,00.html

<snip>

"Arabs unwanted: Kibbutz residents have recently turned to a rightist Likud member in the hopes he can help them convince an Arab family from Nazareth to refrain from moving into a new neighborhood built at the community.

In 2000, Kibbutz Hasolelim opened its gates to families from outside the community. A family from neighboring Nazareth approached the sales office at the site but was told it does not meet the needed criteria, which among other things includes "army service."

In a recent meeting at the kibbutz, members were asked whether they wanted to live near an Arab family, and some "95 percent of those asked voted against the move," a kibbutz resident.

Meanwhile, the upset Arab family turned to the courts. A recent High Court discussion on the issue resulted in a decision to refer the question to an Israel Lands Authority appeal committee."

1. Damned prejudice.
Why, the Arabs have never been anything but nice to the Jews.

Dear sweet lord, what did you expect?

5. So what did those Arabs do those those Jews?
Because to judge an entire group of people based on the actions of a few IS prejudice...in fact, it's bigotry...

Violet...

2. One more example of our wonderful foreign policy.
We're sending Israel HOW much money to enforce racist housing policies?

Note to self: When nation building, perhaps it's not a good idea to put the idiot teenager of the neighborhood in control...

3. Oh, it's far WORSE than just supporting the housing policies!
The US taxpayer is funding the theft of land and water from the Palestinians, in both the West Bank and Jerusalem. It's happening every day, increasingly, right under our noses, but we are being deliberately distracted - encouraged to pay attention only to what's going on in Gaza.

4. I'm aware.
It's just frustrating to see us "spread freedom" by supporting governments who restrict freedoms..
