With this herring I thee wed
In a break from the ordinary grim news in this forum, I give you this:
British woman ‘marries’ dolphin, tying the net after 15-year courtship

Sharon Tendler met Cindy 15 years ago. She said it was love at first sight. This week she finally took the plunge and proposed. The lucky "guy" plunged right back.

In a modest ceremony at Dolphin Reef in the southern Israeli port of Eilat, Tendler, a 41-year-old British citizen, apparently became the world's first person to "marry" a dolphin.

MSNBC

She sleeps with the fishes, now...

1. I'm fairly open-minded...
...but this is pretty f*kin stupid.

And until we can actually translate their language, we can't determine if this is a consentual relationship between two mature sentients.

3. Sharon... Cindy....
Does this mean gay marriage and bestiality are now legal in Israel?

4. Somehow I really doubt
they're legally married.

As far as gay marriage is concerned, while it isn't legal in Israel, same-sex partners are eligible for many (or maybe all, I'm not sure) of the benefits spouses get.

5. I agree
This is probably just a goofy gimmick, definitely not legally married.
