Does Israel Want An All-Out War with the Palestinians?
Israel has apparently decided to stop turning over to the Palestinians taxes that it collects on their behalf. That is, Israel will now keep $55 million of the Palestinians' own money each month. What's up with that?

1. I think it's more of a message to tell Hamas what's at stake...
if they don't recognize the Israeli government.

3. No.
They just don't think it's logical to give money to terrorists who want to destroy them.

4. Aid will go to NGO's, -Border Tax will be held in trust until a government
that does not intend to destroy the jewish state of Israel is running the PA government.

I believe some EU money will continue to go to the PA.

Problem of course is that the shortfall will be about $20 million a week.

Will the Arab states tax themselves and contribute at that level to the PA - they would have no problem with the size of the transfer needed - but in the past it was to terrorists and a bit hidden, not to governments, so they could not be formally called a terrorist state given the money went to "terrorists" that the EU refused to lable as such.

The EU's new position indicates Gulf state money may be noted negatively by the EU.

7. True - but their horse in this race is Hez - giving $'s to Hamas would be
new.

But it certainly would get the attention of Bush -

might be a well spent $20 million a week! - Indeed just a couple of million a week would make the point!

8. Agreed, this Hamas situation will require rethinking.
And thinking ain't Bush's strong point!
