"Provocation repeated: A graffiti blaspheming Prophet Muhammad was sprayed for the second time in one week on the wall of the mosque in the West Bank village of Nebi Elias, near the town of Qalqilya.

Head of the village's council Jalal Falayeh told Ynet that one of the villagers, who resides near the mosque, spotted two settlers arriving by car at the place at approximately 1:30 a.m. According to the eye witness, one of the men sprayed the graffiti "Muhammad the pig, death to Islam" on the wall of the mosque, while the other stood guard.

The perpetrators then reentered the vehicle, honked three times and drove away, Falayeh said.

The graffiti was discovered by worshippers who arrived for their morning prayer at around five in the morning, and was immediately wiped off, in order to prevent the eruption of another violent uproar in response.

"During the demonstrations that ensued the previous time this happened, there were no serious casualties, thank God," Falayeh said."
