Jewish terror suspects freed as probe stalls
Edited on Thu Sep-11-03 05:33 PM by vierundzwanzig
By Jonathan Lis

Most of the Jewish terror suspects have been released from police custody in the past few days and Shin Bet investigators are having difficulty establishing a case against them.

The main detainee, Sela Tor, who is suspected of murder and terrorist attacks on Palestinians, was released unexpectedly on Tuesday.

Tor will have to stay at his parents' house and is barred from communicating with any of the other suspects in the case.

David Libman and Gilad Tor, Sela's brother, were released from detention and remanded unto house arrest with restrictions.

Yisachar Peretz will be released this morning, leaving only Shahar Zeliger Dvir, who admitted possession of arms, in custody. Dvir is suspected of attempted murder, planning and carrying out terror attacks, and weapons-related offenses.

1. You are incorrect
There are no Jewish terrorist suspects, as there are no Jewish terrorists.
People who insist that there are Jewish terrorists are terrorists themselves.
Terrorists will be executed.
Thank you for your cooperation.

7. Normally it would be hard to tell...
And if it were one or two other regular posters here, I'd have no doubts that it was said sincerely. But I remember a thread from a few days ago where both bemildred and The Magistrate welcomed Hawk back. I doubt very much they would have done so if the post above was an indication of Hawk's real views....

19. Mr. Hurricane Is Being Sarcastic, Sir
He is a good fellow, a petty officer in the Navy.

The release of these people is disgraceful: it is not unlike the sort of thing Israelis complain of when the Palestine Authority in the past released suspected Hamas men on various frivolous grounds. Thugs such as this must be prosecuted vigorously.

20. I agree with you completely...
when it comes to these thugs. That woman almost-suicide bomber that the PA released was also a disgraceful action.

6. That's my guess as well...
the way it was phrased makes me think it was. However, I'd like a confirmation.

16. Not offended
The best sarcasm leaves people guessing.
*ahem*

that these people would be walking free in six months. Looks like I was overly optimistic and my usual cyncical attitude toward Israeli actions was insufficient.

11. Have we convicted them?
Do we know they are guilty? The article indicates the case is too weak.

13. Ismail Abu Shanab wasn't convicted, either...
not to mention a number of other militants killed.

15. Well
they blow all these 'terrorists' from choppers. After all, they had a fair trial, didn't they? I keep missing the part about due process.

But seriously: If the argument is that they cannot be secured by any other means there should at least be a trial in absence, don't you think? If that proves them guilty, I guess you can take a shot at them(pun intended).

But last I read was that any Hamas member was a valid target. What the Western Media apparently overlooks is the fact that Hamas has a charitable and a militant faction. How on earth could a charity worker be a no-holds-barred target?

But I bet you that only one in 50 people knows about Hamas charity here. It just isn't that clear-cut. Not to fire up the French debate again.

if a charity worker aligns himself with murderers. Oh, my.
