Israel honors fallen troops as Memorial Day begins

Events to mark Memorial Day for Israel's fallen soldiers began at 8 P.M. Monday with a one-minute heard across the country. In Jerusalem, the siren marked the start of a memorial service at the Western Wall, attended by President Moshe Katsav and bereaved families.

over 22,000 have died in the last 58 years.

my friend chen was killed defending the palestenians who only wished to work in the joint erez industrial area, that joined palestenains and israelis.....its now closed, due to repeated attacks. We served many years together.
