IDF troops hold up Abbas convoy at Gaza entrance for two hours

Israel Defense Forces soldiers manning the Erez checkpoint late Monday night delayed the convoy accompanying Palestinian Authority Chairman Mahmoud Abbas for two hours as it was making its way towards the Gaza Strip, Israel Radio reported.

The IDF reportedly sought to detain a member of Abbas' entourage on suspicion of involvement in armed activity against Israel, according to Israel Radio.

IDF soldiers on Monday stopped a truck near the West Bank boundary inside with no less than 93 Palestinians were hiding.

Authorities suspect the Palestinians were attempting to illegally enter Israel to look for work.
