Bomb 'aimed at Abbas ally' found
A large bomb apparently intended to target the head of the Palestinian security services has been defused in Gaza City, security sources say.
The device was found outside the home of Rashid Abu Shbak, a commander loyal to Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas.

The 70kg (150lb) remote-controlled bomb discovered on Sunday was found on a road outside Rashid Abu Shbak's home in the south of Gaza city. He is reportedly the only person to use the road.

"There is a clear conspiracy aimed to target Fatah leaders and the security chief in the Gaza Strip with suspicious objects. What happened today near Abu Shbak's house and yesterday with the intelligence services is proof of this," said Fatah spokesman Tawfiq Abu Khoussa.
