Saw this on another board. Anyone have a link to verify the stuff about |

Libya?
"Ex-Mossad agent Victor Ostrovsky has revealed that Israel smuggled a radio transmitter into Tripoli and broadcast fake radio traffic to trick Reagan into bombing Libya. And, given that the Israelis attacked the USS Liberty using war planes and attack boats from which all markings had been removed, it seems like that, had the Israelis actually sunk the USS Liberty, they intended to blame it on Egypt, to bring the US into the war on Israel's side. So, the plane crash in New York may have, together with 9-11 and the anthrax letters, been part of a plan to force the US into a major war against all the Arab nations, and like the USS Liberty incident, was stopped, but covered up for political reasons."

1. This probably is derived, in part, from one of ... |
|
... Ostrovsky's two books (_By Way of Deception_, 1990, _The Other Side of Deception_, 1995).
It's a bit confused about the business about the USS Liberty, as well. The official explanation from the Israeli government at the time was that they had been firing on what they thought was an Egyptian ship, so how then could they blame the attack on the Egyptians?
There's been a concerted effort to tie Israel to 9/11 by some groups, but there's simply no evidence for that. It looks like this snippet is simply part of that effort.
That's not to say that Mossad hasn't been up to some very dirty tricks at times, but there's no credible evidence that Mossad was responsible for 9/11, the anthrax attacks or the Airbus crash in NYC.
But, one of those two books likely includes Ostrovsky's accounts regarding Libya, whether true or not.
Cheers.

4. Who benefitted from the put options on those airlines? |
|
I heard some talk at one time suggesting that Israel was the ultimate beneficiary of that, but that seems to have dried up. But we still have not heard who did benefit.

2. Ostrosky is considered a traitor in Israel |
|
by many. But he is also considered a hero for speaking the truth by many Israelis and Jews here.
His books are chilling and essential to gaining one perspective on what is really at work in Israel.
I also recommend the book "Damascus Gate" (I can't remember the author's name, but it was niminated for a National Book award several years ago. It is fiction but based on the contemporary situation politically between the extreme right, the criminal arms/drug merchants and political infighting in Israel)
You will NOT look at the situation the same after reading Ostrowsky's books. BUT you must be aware that he is hated by many in Israel who would prefer to see him in prison or dead for revealing so much which can "hurt" Israel.
His position is that Israel must face its own hypocrisy and deceit if it is to be better and safer.
I tend to agree with him - but he is an opportunist and it is tough to say how much of what he writes is true.
But still a very insightful presentation if half of what he says is real.

3. There are still some serious questions about the attack... |
|
...on the USS Liberty. The US Captain insists that there is no way that the Israeli pilots could have mis-identified his ship. The attack took place in daylight, a large American flag was flying. The attack consisted of repeated close-in gun and cannon runs over a 20 minute period(if I remember correctly). The Israeli Intelligence Agencies had been aware of their presence, location, and identity for a while.
There are many other pieces to this incident. I don't have a link, but my info comes from a show on the History Channel that repeats occasionally. The show contains interviews with the captain, crew, and intelligence people....also some grim pics of the ship.

Assault on the Liberty by McInnes (sp?)
& Paul Bamford's book on the NSA, in which he refers to our hearing discussion from pilots, etc.--during USS Liberty attack.
