DING! DING! DING! We have a winner!
July 13, 2006 winner of the least likely to succeed at anything. I present the freeper of the day. But first the background; Somehow they have gotten hold of a DailyKOS piece, one entitled 'Imagine a world without Isreal.'

http://www.dailykos.com/story/2006/7/12/214150/522

Sort of off the wall, however the OP says that the state of Isreal would be better off dissolved and everybody could live in peace. I don't think so, but he has his right to whatever he wants to post. Well, the freepers are going nuts. Have you ever been in the monkey house at the zoo around dinner time? You get the idea. So without any further ado I present my freeper of the day;

No one should be surprised. No one seems to recall that Nazism was a Leftism too.

Lol, mabye this guy is an unemployed poly-sci major. Even quoting Calvin Coolidge of all people. Lol, he was rumored to have had a string of women he was, shall we say, messing up their blue dresses.

3. What an idiot. Nazism was NOT a leftist political party.
It was far, far right.

And if I hear one more fucking rightie talk about 'blue dresses' I'm going to pop them one right in the mouth. After the way chimp et al has destroyed this country and endangered this world, having that kind of gall and lack of common sense is enraging.

4. Correction: Nazi leaning was to the right, not to the left...
Although the term Socialist was used. Also, while I am a Jew I in fact do not support what Israel has done over a single soldier they could have exchanged a prisoner for. No, but pardon me... my opinion is that if anything, Israel is once again acting as a whore for the west and providing the US the perfect out in taking on Iran.

5. That's surprising, considering how
anti-semitic a lot of freepers and repubs are. The only reason a lot of them even support Israel is because of their belief that it will spark the rapture they're so hoping for.

6. Correction on Nazism being leftist. Even though the Nazis
called themselves socialist, they weren't. They were totalitarian and extreme right as fascists are. Hitler took over a small party of socialist workers, changed the ideology, purged the remaining socialists who didn't quit and went with it to the end as history has shown.

9. But RightWingers DO believe in Socialism and the Welfare State
As long as the beneficiaries are conservative, white, christian, heterosexual and upper middle class or higher.

17. They have no problem with corporate welfare either.
I can agree with the state creating a friendly place to do business, and if that means helping business with some of its problems it's fine with me, but wholesale theivery of programs meant to aid the small business by huge corporations tells me that they couldn't compete without coddling by our government. The prescription drug benefit is a prime example of this. It awards the PHARMA industry the ability to set prices with no free market competition for their product and it robs the ordinary citizen of the drugs they need because of the ridiculous prices.

7. thats a WIDESPREAD idea among wingers.

Communism is far left, its true...but fascism is far right. The freeptards missed the bit of history where germany and the soviet union were at war, and the soviets, not america, sacked Berlin ending Hitler'd rule. They were deep ideological enemies, that's why they were at war.

12. And what's more- Stalin and Hitler were both extreme authoritarians.
Edited on Thu Jul-13-06 08:04 PM by Marr
Exactly the same as neocons who argue for a "unitary executive". There are differences in their economic ideas, of course, but they seem rather quaint when compared to their similar ideas on the power of the state vs. citizens. The real split is between authoritarians and egalitarians, and in this respect, the modern GOP comes down squarely on the side of both Hitler *and* Stalin.

16. well said!
I think that's exactly it, and its exactly why they want to accuse liberals of naziism, because it so closely resembles what they practice. Its the Ann Coulter technique...If your going to commit slander, put it in a bok called 'slander' where you accuse others of slander. That way, when somebody tells you your crime, you can say its just partisian bickering and they are only saying it of you because you said it of them.

13. They Just Love To Try To Have It Both Ways
they want to bash communism and hide their fascism, so they go with the "socialist" in National Socialism (Nazis) who were fascist corporatists by definition of their ideology.

they don't want to have anyone recognize them for who they really are so they lie

14. A relative of mine brought up that "socialist Nazi" line.
I asked him if that meant the Chinese are Republicans. "The name doesn't matter", he said.

Yeah.

15. No surprise...average joe doesn't know the difference between
socialism, communism, fascism, right, left....any of it.
They (we) are taught that "all politicians are the same" so
they (we) don't pay attention. Plus the education system
is SERIOUSLY lacking...on purpose I suspect?. Dumber
than a post - that's they way uhuh uhuh they like it.
