Assad pledges Syrian help for Lebanon
Edited on Sat Jul-15-06 02:23 PM by cal04
Syria will put its resources at the disposal of Lebanon to help cope with Israeli attacks devastating the country, Syrian President Bashar al-Assad told Lebanese President Emile Lahoud by phone on Saturday.

The official news agency SANA said Assad expressed solidarity with Lebanon, where Israeli bombing has killed around 100 civilians since Hizbollah captured two Israeli soldiers in a cross-border operation on Wednesday.

It was the first comment by Assad since the confrontation began between Israeland Hizbollah, which is backed by Syria and Iran.

SANA did not say whether Assad discussed Hizbollah during the telephone call with Lahoud and gave no details on what kind of help he was offering.

1. He better protect his air-force quickly as it is about to be
neutralized. (Just my guess.) And his 4,000+ tanks are basically useless. Air power is the key here.
Does Syria have SAMs?

2. buh bye, Assad regime....
It wasn't nice to know you. I give you 3 weeks max. Pack up or look to hide in some spider holes.

Guess it's Israel's fault that Syria is aiding Lebanon. Couldn't be anything about Syria hosting and sponsoring both Hamas and Hizbollah already for the past 10-20 years.

Nah....

3. syria wont move...
last time syria fought israel the score was 101 syrian jets downed to 0 israeli jets...and that was in the 80's. Since then the IAF has modernized while the syrians havent....their tanks would be sitting ducks..their SAMS out of date and their air force.....
