Lebanon: Israel sent demands through Italy on release of soldiers

Lebanon's government said Sunday that Italy has relayed Israeli conditions to stop its assault on Lebanon: release the two captured Israel Defense Forces soldiers and pull Hezbollah back from the Israeli border.

"Nothing is official because the real negotiations have not started yet," Aridi said.

"Now is not the time for arguments and discussions. We are now in a battle with an enemy that launched a war on our land," said Hezbollah's Energy and Water Minister Mohammed Fneish.

Fneish also said the Hezbollah would not attack nuclear installations in Israel. In response to a question on the matter, he said, "No, not nuclear installations. The resistance is acting wisely and responsibly and we won't initiate an attack on just any installation, only in the framework of a legitimate response."
