Is it true that topics here can't be nominated for the Greatest page?

How long has this policy been in place? What other boards are censored from having excellent posts seen by a wider audience?

1. I'd think again before shouting "censorship." This is not the only forum

that's disallowed from "Greatest Page" voting.

It's a private board, and it has rules.

If you don't like the rules, you're free to contact the admins and voice your concerns. I've done so myself, and they're pretty responsive.

"Censorship" doesn't apply to a private entity.

You implied you knew, but didn't answer. What other boards are disallowed from voting for greatest? Which ones, specifically?

Just thought I would check. Nothing in the definition of the word that says it doesn't apply to a private entity.

Now, I didn't say I disputed that the owners of the board had the right to censor it. My main questions were:

1: Is it true that this forum is censored in this way (and it appears the answer is yes).
2: What other forums are censored in this way (and I have no idea of the answer to that).

You cannot recommend from SEVERAL forums...though not an exhaustive list, this would include, the Jewish forum, the Atheist forum, and anything under the title of "ethnicity, religion, and atheism," cannot do it from the "gun" room, or the 9-11 forum and not from the "Pets room" either.

5. so the "recommends" the I/P threads DO have must be from

when they were in GD or GD Politics before they were moved here to I/P because the thread that everybody is wigging out about for being anti-semitic (tho a good chunk of the sources are jewish for Goff's piece)has 16 recommends. that must explain it.

The administrators review and select the forums that are eligible for the Greatest Page. At this time topics in the Israel/Palestine Forum can't be nominated for the Greatest Page.
