For the intellectually challenged - congressional decisions are made based on whoever has purchased influence. If drug companies purchase politicians, then Medicare Part D becomes law. If oil companies purchase politicians, then oil companies get 12 billion dollars in subsidies during a year they make 40 billion in profits. When political action committees purchase politicians, they benefit from massive aid packages and votes on the house floor.

Does that clear some of the haze?
