..."Bonds to Israel translate into blood in Palestine and Lebanon," said the Rev. Werner Lange of Portage County, who is running as an independent for the 14th Congressional District seat.

Lange first protested the bond purchases two weeks ago -- alone. But the issue has been adopted by groups angry over the war and angry with Israel, and it emerged as a key theme at a downtown rally that drew about 150 people a week ago...

At 7 p.m. Tuesday, the local office of State of Israel Bonds will hold an "Israel Solidarity Rally" at Siegal College of Judaic Studies in Beachwood. It's being coordinated with bond rallies in 11 other American cities.

Rally organizers are urging people to purchase Israel Bonds to show support for the Jewish state in a time of crisis.
