Mother, two daughters killed in rocket strike on Bedouin village


A woman and her two daughters were killed when their home suffered a direct hit in a Katyusha rocket strike on the Bedouin village of Arab al-Aramshe, in the Western Galilee near the northern border, on Saturday.

The fatalities were identified as Fadiya Juma'a, 60, and her daughters Sultana, 31, and Samira, 33.

Hezbollah fired 170 Katyusha rockets across northern Israel on Saturday afternoon, 130 of which landed between 4 P.M. and 5 P.M.


An Israel Defense Forces soldier sustained serious wounds when a rocket hit an army base near the northern border.

17. I don't think it's glee...

I doubt any DUers feel glee in the 'goody goody! I'm so gleeful coz civilians of one particular ethnic group have been killed!!' sense. What I have noticed standing out like a sore thumb for a long time in this little corner of DU is an attitude where the killing of and/or violence towards Arabs is only mentioned or spoken out against if it's done by Arabs. If Israel does it, then it's either ignored or defended. And it works the other way round as well...

I have opinions about some regular posters based on their words at DU and sometimes elsewhere, but being ever mindful of the rules I keep those opinions to myself and at most share them at times with the mods. Because I think their words speak very much to their character and reminding them of various bigoted comments they've made in the past only turns this place into a soap-opera and detracts from discussing the real issues, which at the moment is the terrible loss of lives in Lebanon, Gaza and Israel...

16. Well the last time Hezbollah killed those 2 Arab kids they apologised

and called them `martyrs`.

Now the Bedouin while being Muslim all serve in the IDF ,in fact the IDF officer that shot the little girl 13 times to `confirm` the kill was in the IDF`s Bedouin unit.

I wonder if Hezbollah will apologize and declare them martyrs?
