Israel needs to admit it had no right to kick Palestinians out in '48.

Yes, the Jewish people needed and deserved a homeland.

But disinheriting and displacing a people who had had nothing to do with the Jewish people's suffering was not the way to do this.

Don't get me wrong.

The State of Israel is here to stay. It will always militarily dominate the Middle East.

But there needs to be an official acknowledgement of the original injustice and some way of compensating for this injustice(perhaps with financial assistance from the United States, Canada, and the United Kingdom, the states who made the Holocaust a certainty when they refused to take in the Jewish and other refugees from Hitler). There should also be an official apology by the Israeli government for the massacre at Deir Yassin and for the continued building of settlements in the West Bank even during what was called the "peace process" in the 1990's.

It was NEVER "a land without people".

Palestinians never deserved to suffer for the sins of Hitler.

The wrong needs to be righted.

Only then can there be a just peace.

The allies carved up the mid-east and pretty much dumped Jewish refugees there.

Well before 1948. The British had been planning to partition Palestine into Muslim and Jewish halves prior to 1948.
