Israeli Muslim to take on Holocaust denial at Iran conference
JERUSALEM: An Israeli Arab who opened a Holocaust museum in his home last year is planning to attend an upcoming conference in Iran on whether or not the Holocaust actually happened — and he intends to tell the Iranians it cannot be denied.

Khaled Kasab Mahameed, a Muslim lawyer from Nazareth, said he had been invited to the conference, slated to begin December 11 in Iran's capital, Tehran. It was initiated by Iranian President Mahmoud Ahmedinejad, who has called the Holocaust a "myth," and is supposed to encourage research into whether or not millions of Jews were murdered by the Nazi regime during World War II.

Ahmedinejad, who has also called for Israel to be "wiped off the map" and has been accused by the West of pursuing nuclear weapons, has suggested that the Israelis invented the Holocaust in order to dispossess the Palestinians.

1. it's sad there still remains a "debate" on whether the Holocaust ocurred

in spite of the mountain of testaments from survivors, official documents, first-hand witnesses, and even some of the perpetrators.

Anyway, good for Mahameed. I hope the people at the conference will listen to what he has to say.

3. Good for him
He has the courage to speak truth where it won't be popular.

4. exactly -- holocaust denial is absurd
just as Nabqa denial is ludicrous. I am not making a moral comparison. Obviously the holocaust was far, far worse. But I am making an intellectual comparison. Whenever people deny irrefutable facts of history -- reality and sound judgment is distorted.
