Survivor discusses Gaza shooting deaths
GAZA CITY, Gaza Strip - Six-year-old Lydia Abu Eitta was getting a ride to school when masked gunmen stopped her car. She ducked and a split second later, militants riddled the car with gunfire, killing her three young cousins.

Osama, 9, Ahmed, 6, and Salam Balousheh, 3, died instantly along with the driver in the Monday morning assassination attempt apparently aimed at the boy's father. The little girl saw it all and even managed to draw a picture of the bloody scene on Tuesday.

"I asked Osama for a tissue" to wipe off the blood running down her face, but "he didn't answer," Lydia said, in the first eyewitness account of a shooting that has prompted rage, grief and soul-searching throughout the Palestinian areas.

1. The killing of children has gone on too long in Gaza, usually perpetuated by the IDF
hundreds of children have died this way. One can look at the Human Rights reports for ample documentation.

That a few Palestinian gunmen have done this terrible crime to children is terrible and tragic and inexcusable. I hope they find the ones who did it.

3. "..a few Palestinian gunmen..."
How many suicide bombers have killed children? What about rocket attacks?

Of the hundreds killed by the IDF, how many of them were actually killed by crossfire because of cowardly terrorists hiding behind them?

4. It really doesn't matter. The person who fired the bullet is responsible for the death.
This is basic stuff.

5. I see
So then according to you if a pair of criminals blast their way into say a shopping mall where you are at, take your SO or children and use them as shields and then continue shooting innocent bystanders as well as the police, it would be the fault of the police for killing your family members?

It really doesn't seem like basic stuff to me, my dear chum.

7. I was referring the any children killed by the IDF in the crossfire.

Your use of the term human shield in the scenario you give is a gross exaggeration. In the real world, with the IDF operating in land Israel is illegally occupying, then they are absolutely responsible for any deaths they cause, most certainly civilian children. You see, I expect them to sacrifice their lives before killing innocent children, if they were ever forced to make such a choice. As, they are the occupier and they chose to be in that uniform.

It sure would be interesting to see those people who make such "silly, niave, simplistic" statements be put in the one of those situations.......(i have a good idea how they would react.....)

the most interesting part is those who have been would never write such silly statements.....its kind of like a life long single person giving advice on marriage.....to offer a simple analogy

It is tragic that both sides are responsible for killing so many innocent children.
