Italian Prime Minister Romano Prodi-Israel should be Jewish state
Prodi became the first European leader on Wednesday to say explicitly that Israel should remain a Jewish state, a statement that implied acceptance of Israel's rejection of the Palestinian claim for a right of refugee return.

His remarks came just a day after UN Secretary-General Kofi Annan called for "a solution that respects the rights of Palestinian refugees and is consistent with the two-state solution and with the character of the states in the region."

3. I'm Saying
* is supposedly pro-Israel. He supported Berlusconi and portrayed Prodi as anti-Israel in comparison. This shows that Prodi's views are very pro-Israel.

5. In candid TV footage, PM coaches Prodi
Candid TV footage of Prime Minister Ehud Olmert and his Italian counterpart, Romano Prodi, showed Olmert coaching Prodi on what to say at their joint press conference in Rome.

In the footage, taken by a cameraman for Channel 10 TV, the two men are seen - apparently unaware they are being filmed - conversing Wednesday about what to say at the press conference, held during Olmert's visit to Rome.
