Sharon Affirms Desire to 'Remove' Arafat
Israel is determined to "remove" Yasser Arafat one day, even though the Palestinian leader might get hurt if he is seized by Israeli troops, Prime Minister Ariel Sharon said in an interview published Friday...

He said a decision to that effect by Israel's security Cabinet on Sept. 11 canceled his personal promise to President Bush made several years ago not to harm the Palestinian leader physically.

"You have to keep in mind that it is very difficult to ensure that he (Arafat) won't be harmed if we seize him," Sharon said...

3. If Sharon hurts or kills Arafat, he'll be a marytr and terrorist attacks
will increase and most likely go on for years.

One thing Arafat excels at is playing the marytr syndrome and Sharon feeds right into it.

4. What happens if Arafat is removed?
A vacuum of leadership and more turmiol and chaos? Or would it pave the way for a more moderate leader? My guess, I'm afraid, is the first.

6. Whaddaya mean "more moderate???"
Really, unless there's a Palestine that actually gives the Palestinians justice, the American media will call them "extreme."

5. Sharon's the one who should be "removed"
He's at least as much of a terrorist as Arafat ever was, or is.

11. Depending on the viewpoint, everybody is a terrorist
It just depends on which political side your own, who you're associated with, who your enemy is.

Most of the Islamic world sees the US, perhaps rightly so since the invasion of Iraq, as a terrorist too. And since 9/11 we've hurt and killed far more of them than they have of us. Sharon brown-noses Bush, the "ringleader" who also gets suckered into everything and reacts predictably and violently.

The propaganda you exude is completely one-dimensional and is jingoism.

In order for REAL peace to happen, all involved must compromise. But everybody's too proud and pompous to do that, and Bush* prefers his bloodlust anyway. x(
