Ahmadinejad: Israel and the U.S. would not dare attack Iran
Iran's President Mahmoud Ahmadinejad said neither Israel, nor the United States, would dare attack the Islamic Republic over its nuclear program, a Spanish newspaper quoted him as saying in an interview.

The Iranian president was responding to a question on a recent article by Britain's Sunday Times that Israel had secret plans to destroy Iran's uranium enrichment facilities with tactical nuclear weapons.

"They well know the power of the Iranian people. I don't think they would ever dare to attack us, neither them nor their masters. They won't do such a stupid thing," Ahmadinejad told El Mundo during a visit to Nicaragua, referring to Israel.

Conservative Iranian leaders, such as Ahmadinejad, see Israel as a stooge of the United States in the Middle East.

3. Seemed a little blunt, even for Haaretz.
Of course the question as to who is the sock-puppet and who is the puppeteer is always good for a heated but inconclusive debate here.

Ahm-an-idjit seems to be continuing his belligerent ways, you'd almost think he doesn't view an attack as a bad thing ...

5. Yeah, that's what I'm afraid of.
He knows that we don't have the infantry to defeat Iran. A victory over the United States would be a glorious event in the history of Persia. I guess he's from the old school that sees glory in the killing of young foreigners.

I think his internal political situation more of less demands lots of external threats, too, very Bushlike in that respect. If the US started sucking up to Iran, I don't know how long he would last.

9. I've noticed that too.
I've read that he is seen as too regressive by many Iranians. My understanding is that he mostly rules on fear. If we stopped looking like a threat I think he would be out on his ass.

2. This is like Mae Clark challenging James Cagney in "Public Enemy"
and ending up with a grapefruit in the puss.

6. But who's really in charge...
who are the real Bush-Cheney paymasters?
And would they benefit from seeing Iran knocked over just like Iraq?
