Labor Minister Eitan Cabel resigns, urges PM to do the same
By Mazal Mualem, Haaretz Correspondent

Labor faction whip Eitan Cabel resigned from the government Tuesday
and called on Prime Minister Ehud Olmert to do the same, in the wake
of the Winograd Committee's partial report on the Second Lebanon War.

"The public has lost faith in Prime Minister Ehud Olmert," Cabel said.
"I cannot continue to serve as a minister in a government headed by
Olmert."

"Ehud Olmert must resign," Cabel continued. "I hope, and will act to
this end, that my resignation is not just an individual matter, but
rather will lead the coalition partners to internalize everyone's
obligation to cause Ehud Olmert to resign."

2. Props to Cabel for intelligence and integrity.
Knowing when to fold is at least as important as knowing when to bluff.

3.  Israeli coalition whip resigns over Lebanon report
Tel Aviv - Israeli coalition whip Avigdor Yitzhaki resigned from his post Wednesday, becoming the second official to step down over a report harshly criticizing the Israeli leadership's handling of last summer's Lebanon war, Israel Radio reported. The leading official in Ehud Olmert's ruling Kadima party made the move after learning the premier planned to sack him for his open revolt against him and calls on him to resign.
