Jammal Nazzal, Fatah spokesman in the West Bank, stated on Saturday that Article 43 of the Palestinian Basic Law stipulates that the Palestinian presidents Mahmoud Abbas' decisions have the force of law as long as Hamas keeps Preventing legislative reconvene to continue.


Answering the question of what happens after the 30 days which the time allowed to keep the emergency government Abbas formed after Hamas took total control of the Gaza strip nearly three weeks ago, Nazzal said that there is no limit to how many times the Palestinian president can renew the state of emergency according to article 110 of the Palestinian Basic Law the presidents could keep the emergency stat as long as Hamas coup as he called it stays in effect in the Gaza strip.

Nazzal added that he is surprised from Isma'el Hannyiah, the fired Palestinian prime minister of Hamas, demands that the current Palestinian appointed government pays the salaries of Hamas' militia as he called them and cover the expenses of Hannyiah's office. Adding that" if Hannyiah's government is a legal one, then why he do not bay the salaries, if he can't bay even pay the salaries of his militia, from were he has legality them, as long as he is on power people will starve".
