900 rockets on southern Israel in 2008 already

Palestinian forces operating out of the Gaza Strip have fired 900 locally produced rockets and Iranian-supplied missiles at towns and villages in southern Israel during the first four months of 2008 alone.

That according to statistics compiled and presented at a security cabinet meeting on Wednesday by Israeli Internal Security Minister Avi Dichter.

Dichter noted that a total of 1,100 rockets were fired from Gaza during all of 2007, meaning that Israel was now experiencing a major escalation in terrorism emanating from the Hamas-ruled territory.

at Palestinian terrorists. You do understand that the rockets and missiles fired by Hamas and all the other terrorist groups are not aimed at anything in particular--unless you consider that an entire city (like Sderot) is the target.

Israel by contrast makes every effort to minimize civilian casualties when defending themselves from terrorist attacks.

Perhaps you aren't "beholden to AIPAC and its propoganda" but you are 'beholden to propaganda.' BTW, are you just interested in a "body count" or what?

israel has killed a lot more Palestinians than israelis have been killed....in fact israel has killed a lot more jordanians, egyptians, lebanese, syrians than israelis have been killed. The IDF and the Israeli govt has done a relatively good job in learning how to protect its citizens from being killed from various attacking armies, terrorists, missiles and mortars that have been ongoing since before its independence, while producing a skilled armed forces.

The Palestinians (various jihadnikim) have been trying very hard to kill israelis in their homes, in their schools, kitchens, busses, restaurants and everywhere else they can find them.....its a good thing the IDF is there to stop them, for if there was no IDF or a weak IDF, past experiences with Hamas/PLO etc have show that when given the chance they really do massacre israelis at point blank range.

of course there is a simple way for the war in gaza to stop.....all hamas has to do is stop the daily attempts to murder israelis......and then no Palestinians will be killed

btw israel is not a "victim"...it is a strong country protecting its citizens....

It isn't self defense, it's retaliatory attacks on Palestinian civilians, and Hamas is doing the same thing - retaliating with attacks on Israeli civilians.

11. so...if i understand correctly...

given that hamas attacks irregardless of what israel does....whether the IDF attacks or not (research will show that it makes no difference to hamas)...your prefer that israel do nothing to limit the rocket attacks on its civilians....

i'm am including the limitations of todays technologies, human error, human judgment and that fact that exploding things are very indiscriminate....
