Hamas claims responsibility for deadly blast in Gaza house
Edited on Fri Jun-13-08 07:37 AM by oberliner
Hamas on Friday claimed responsibility for an explosion a day earlier in a house in northern Gaza that killed seven Palestinians, one of them an infant girl.

An announcement Friday on the official Web site of Hamas' military wing says the group's martyrs died while putting the final touches on a plan to carry out a special holy war mission.

More details from the AFP:

It said six members of the brigades were killed in the blast in Beit Lahya. A local leader of the Hamas armed wing died of his wounds on Friday, one day after his four-month-old baby died in the explosion, a doctor at Shiffa hospital in Gaza City said.

There have been several cases in the past when militants accidentally set off deadly blasts while assembling makeshift explosive devices.

About 50 people were wounded, among them 15 children, in Thursday's explosion, according to the head of emergency services in Gaza, Muawiya Hassanin.

The blast destroyed a house and damaged about 10 neighbouring homes, witnesses said.

Hamas initially blamed Israeli armed forces, and militants fired dozens of rockets and mortar rounds at Israel in the hours following the explosion.

Dead and injured children is not "poetic" nor is it "justice".

What did the dead infant girl in her four months on earth possibly do for you to accurately describe this as "justice"?

Next time Israeli children die or are maimed, let's see what "Poetic Justice" you'll be commenting about

that they would even put their own children in such danger. Get rid of Hamas and the Palestinians will have a nation. They have never had any qualms about killing innocent children.

6. So? What does that have to do with justice?
What did those children do that merited being killed and injured?

7. The children are victims of a tragedy. And it also displays the
lack of concern Hamas' has for its own innocents. The weapons were obviously meant to kill Israeli innocents.

This type of war, too, has its 'friendly fire'.

If only there could be real peace negotiations!
