Official PA paper: Israel poisoning prisoners

Incitement in the Palestinian media is far from rare, but with Israel on the cusp of a prisoner exchange deal with Hizbullah and the fate of a similar deal for Palestinian prisoners still far from being finalized – the Palestinian Authority's official newspaper is trying to ratchet up the pressure.

In a series of reports published in the 'al-Hayat al-Jadida' newspaper Israel is accused of poisoning Palestinian prisoners in its custody and conducting "medical experiments' on them.

"Many of the male and female prisoners were given injections from needles they had never seen before, that led to permanent hair loss and facial hair loss. There are prisoners who have lost their sight and their sense, those who have lost their sanity and those whose mental condition is increasingly deteriorating, there are prisoners who have become barren and cannot reproduce," the article said.

Health Ministry addressed the claims: "There have not been, nor are there currently, any experiments being conducted on inmates in prisoners, nor have any been authorized."

8. Aren't there these things called doctors who know that stuff?

We have them here and they can even pinpoint what causes the infertility and in some cases when the person became infertile. But maybe the wonders of modern medicine haven't reached the other side of the world yet. Anyway, not being one to fall for propaganda I'll have to wander off and see what the really non-propaganda type folk at CAMERA have to say!

I don't really have an opinion on whether any of it's implausible or not. I truly hope it's not happened, even to one prisoner. I think it's bad enough that there's torture of Palestinian prisoners, let alone anything of an even worse nature.

10. Except normally a doctor won't check you for fertility problems

unless you have a problem getting pregnant and there are no other obvious reasons for that. Since they aren't going to get pregnant in prison, it wouldn't een be checked for.
