Four rockets strike Negev, one landing near two kindergartens
Palestinian militants fired at least four Qassam rockets from the Gaza Strip into the western Negev on Sunday, with one landing in between two kindergartens.

Three rockets struck the Eshkol region, two of them landing in open fields and the third close to the kindergartens. A fourth rocket struck an open field in the Sdot Negev Regional Council area. No casualties or damage were reported in any of the strikes.

Later on Sunday morning, Israel Defense Forces soldiers exchanged fire with militants near the Kissufim crossing on the border with the Gaza Strip. No casualties were reported in the incident.

On Saturday morning one Grad rocket struck south of Ashkelon after a Color Red alert sounded in the city.

2. thousands fired at Israel in the last few years
How many "hundreds" of reports of kassams near schools do you actually read about? Maybe several dozen? Out of thousands.

3. Call Bull**** all you like
you can always look at the photographs, which illustrate where the kassams fall.

Oh, unless you really are one of the kooks who thinks that Israel is firing them at themselves.

I love the nutjob conspiracy theorists.

4. Close to 10,000 Qassams have landed in Israel - maybe a few dozen have landed near schools
That does not seem so unusual.

6. When one lands near a school it is especially newsworthy
Edited on Sun Feb-01-09 01:55 PM by oberliner
Perhaps that's why you have a warped sense of how frequently it occurs.

I certainly can promise you that not every article I post claims that the Qassams landed near a school, but I will confess that I find those incidents to be particularly distressing.

8. Well since even the "Big" Qassam 3 carries only 10 kilos...
of mixed homemade explosive and have a blast radius of under 50 meters, I would have to question what the definition of "near" is....I mean are they building kindergartens every 500 feet?

9. There are photos of the rocket and where it landed in relation to the school
You can judge for yourself if they are "near" enough to the school to be reported as such.

12. This obviously justifies Israel killing another thousand Palestinians
NO casualties from the latest rocket firings, yet you can be sure there will be PLENTY of Palestinian casualties in response - many of them civilian.

13. And since children were "targeted"
The IDF will be allowed to target children as punishment.

Not that they'll do anything differently...
