Five arrested during protest over wounding of Oakland man in Israel
SAN FRANCISCO—Five people are facing charges after a demonstration outside the Israeli consulate in San Francisco turned into a scuffle with police officers.

A police spokesman says the five were arrested for assault, resisting arrest and attempting to free a companion from police custody.

Two other demonstrators were cited for vandalism.

The trouble began as a group of demonstrators gathered outside the consulate in the city's financial district Monday night.

The group was protesting the wounding of an Oakland man during a clash between protesters and Israeli troops in the West Bank.
