Jerusalem braces for violence as Haredi mother due in court
The Jewish Taleban is no different from its Islamic and Christian variants. This festering wound on the world's peace and safety begins with the religious schools where intolerance and anti-progressive views are indoctrinated from a very early age.

Invoking religion to rationalize child abuse is a new low for the Haredim puke.

Jerusalem braces for violence as Haredi mother due in court

By Nir Hasson, Jonathan Lis and Yair Ettinger

Jerusalem police were bracing on Friday for more violence
after a third straight night of street battles with ultra-Orthodox Jews over the arrest of a Haredi woman for alleged child abuse.

The woman, who police suspect of starving her 3-year-old son over the past two years, was due to appear in court on Friday and the outcome could either defuse or further inflame tensions in the city. Police said if the woman's family and lawyers agree to a psychiatric evaluation, she could be released quickly. They have so far refused and demand her unconditional release.

Violence erupted again in Jerusalem on Thursday night as over 1,000 ultra-Orthodox rioters clashed with hundreds of police officers at key intersections throughout the city, following a rally in Sabbath Square protesting the arrest of a woman from the community for alleged child abuse.

At least 18 police officers were hurt over the course of the evening riots, nine of them hospitalized in various conditions. Six demonstrators were also wounded.

Dozens of Haredi (ultra-Orthodox) protesters were arrested or detained as they blocked Route 1, a key Jerusalem artery. Approximately 34 protesters were in custody on Friday morning, said police. Police used water cannons to disperse the crowds and reopen the road.

1. If I was a god...
I would take all of the ultra-orthodox, all of Hamas, all of the Iranian mullahs, all of the Saudi clergy and the wahabi supporters, all of the Taliban and Al Quada, all of the Opus Dei idiots, all Mormons, all of the Scientologists, all of the Christian fundies, and pretty much all Libertarians... I would create a new planet for them, but one with almost no mineral resources. And like Philip Jose Farmer's Riverworld scifi saga, I would give each person a magical pail that provides each person with all of the meals they could eat, plus other sundry items for taking care of yourself. And each person would have a gun with 12 bullets. But after those 12 are gone, that's it, no more bullets. But each pail only functions for the original owner.

When I magically place all those people on that planet, I would mix them up all up geographically, and with no easy way (other than walking) to get from one place to another.

And I suspect that after I did that, placing some 100 Million to 200 Million people there... if I can back 1 month later, there would be, just maybe, 1 million survivors and the worst forms of slavery and debauchery and cruelty that have ever existed on this earth.

Sorry if this offends anyone... but I'm sick to death of people and their religions.

3. Libertarians earn my scorn right now because of the
health care debate.

Their whole me,me,me philosophy is so repugnant AND they are full of hypocrisy (because it's me me me unless it's something that they use that we all paid for).

I swear to god (or FSM) that they would complain about "gubmint intrusion" while standing in line at the bank to cash a welfare check.

Besides, their belief system might as well be a religion.
