IDF issues warning to Gazans after mortar barrage on Israel
The Israel Air Force dropped thousands of warning leaflets over Gaza on Thursday, after Palestinian militants launched a barrage of at least ten mortar shells at Israel, none of which caused injuries or damage.

Six shells exploded in the northwestern Negev, three others struck near the Kerem Shalom crossing with Gaza, while another exploded in the coastal strip.

The Popular Resistance Committees (PRC) claimed responsibility Thursday for the mortar fire.

The Defense Ministry on Thursday closed the Kerem Shalom crossing until further notice. Dozens of aid trucks that were prepared to deliver humanitarian supplies to Gaza were waiting at the crossing Thursday morning, Israel Radio reported.

And so the kabuki dance of death continues.

As soon as the border is opened for aid convoys, new attacks are launched to provoke closure.

Then the closure is used to rationalize the attacks.

since the war....even despite the over 500+ kassams and mortars since the war. Of course attacking the border crossing, endangers the people working there. Some of us believe that there is no reason why those people should be risking their lives to deliver supplies to hamas governed gaza when hamas has obviously has agreed to try to kill those people. (thats the agreed upon intent when one shoots mortars at a populated place).

and they attacked egypt as well, killing a guard..this is not a wise policy

a footnote:
i appears that the lack of response from israel from the previous 500 has irked hamas enough to increase the attacks (grad near ashkelon today) as well as the 6 mortars....i guess hamas needs some more attention......or some israeli attacks to help preserve their rule
