Israel may help guard Greek waters at Olympics

- Israel has reportedly offered to help Greece safeguard the 2004 Olympics by sending vessels for sea patrols seeking suspected terrorists trying to enter the country, AP reported. The offer, reported Monday by the Athens daily Ta Nea, could also include sending frogmen to help guard Greek ports during the August 13-29 games. Because of an accommodation shortage, organizers plan to house more than 10,000 officials and visitors aboard 11 cruise ships in the port of Piraeus near Athens. Israel and the United States are members of a seven-nation Olympic security advisory group helping Greece plan for the games. Greece has budgeted a record $775 million for Olympic security.
