Hamas women rally in Gaza for West Bank shrines

Gaza – Ma'an – The Hamas women’s movement staged a peaceful demonstration outside the Palestinian Legislative Council (PLC) building in Gaza on Wednesday protesting Israeli infringement on Palestinian religious sites in the West Bank.

The group’s spokeswoman, Umm Muhammad Ar-Rantisi said, “The events in Jerusalem and at the Ibrahimi mosque in Hebron show that Israel plans to take over Jerusalem and dominate our holy sites.”

She urged the Palestinian government in Gaza to “remain strong” in opposition to Israeli occupation and take concrete steps to defend religious sites from what she termed a “fierce attack” by Israel.
