Israel vows more settlements despite US tensions
<snip>

"Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu made it clear on Monday settlement building in east Jerusalem would continue, in a move likely to further heighten tensions with key ally the United States.

"Construction will continue in Jerusalem as this has been the case over the past 42 years," he told members of his Likud party. Israel occupied mainly Arab east Jerusalem in the 1967 Six Day War and later annexed it in a move not recognised by the international community.

Israel's go-ahead last week for the construction of 1,600 new homes for Jewish settlers in east Jerusalem infuriated Washington, particularly since it coincided with a visit by US Vice President Joe Biden aimed at promoting renewed peace talks with the Palestinians.

Israel's ambassador to Washington said bilateral relations have hit a 35-year low.

"Israel's relations with the US are facing the most severe crisis since 1975," the Yediot Aharonot newspaper quoted ambassador Michael Oren, a prominent Middle East historian, as telling consuls in the United States during a telephone briefing over the weekend."

1. Let's call it what it is - ethnic cleansing
Netanyahu makes clear he does not want peace with the Palestinians under any circumstances. Further, he makes VERY clear that ALL Americans MUST pay not only with the billions given to the Netanyahu government of Israel, but with the lives of OUR soldiers fighting and dying in Muslim lands.

Natenyahu's position on the matter of setllements should force America to rethink our level of blind support for this current Israeli regime. Let's be clear - America is sacrificing not only oceans of money to Israel, but the lives of our sons and daughters as well. We must ask for what purpose at this point.

2. "Plausible Deniability" - Obama/Netanyahu spat just for show?
so that when we bomb Iran (with so-called usable nukes) Zionists can claim they had nothing to do with it?

3. Don't blame Bibi for doing what his predecessors did
In fact, I applaud Bibi for pulling the curtain away and showing the Wizard of Oz and his trickery. The peace process has been window dressing for several decades.

Let's move on and deal with the reality of a single state, and its consequences.
