Palestinians Laugh at Deaths of American Soldiers in Iraq
The official Palestinian Authority daily has used the picture of a memorial to dead American soldiers in Iraq to mock the United States' dead. The somber memorial with rifles and helmets for each soldier killed, was built after the downing of a US helicopter in Iraq killing 15 Americans. See below the Palestinian cartoon and the American memorial to the dead they were mocking. Below is a second PA cartoon likewise ridiculing the deaths of Americans, a common PA theme.
The Palestinian cartoon appeared in today's official daily Al Hayat Al Jadida and includes "quotes" next to each helmet mocking the dead Americans:

"We will imprison Saddam soon"
"Casualties are relatively low"
"The uprising is weak and desperate"
"International forces are needed".

Shall we support the Israeli government or these? I think you know the answer.

4. How not?

One tolerates terrorism, promotes bigotry, sells away the rights of the Palestinian people, and is blatantly corrupt.

The other brutalizes and occupies a people, bulldozes houses, builds walls on stolen land, finances the building of settlements on stolen land, and shows little concern whatsoever for the suffering of millions.

5. I agree...
neither...disengage and divest. Let nature take its course, whatever that may be. A pox upon them all.

Clear evidence of terrorist intent.

Nuke the place.

8. a common trend down here
is for both sides to go out of their way to demonize the other.

In other words...yes,I would believe that was the intent.

about Americans dying in the ME. Watch the flame-bait, will you Herschel?

We're not idiots over here. The idea that Israel is all right, all the time and the Palestinians are Islamic terrorists just doesn't cut it anymore. We saw the murderous bulldozers, dude.

Explain that.

On edit--looking at the quotes, they don't really sound "mocking" to me. They sound like they are mocking what Bush has been saying about the war, not mocking the deaths.

12. this is very sad..
but hardly unexpected..I would expect that Palestinian citizens would equate "collateral damage" caused by apache helicopters to US support of Israel..Hardly surprising that they gloat over US deaths..I guess its human nature..

14. You Can See Similar Cartoons, Mr. Herschel
On editorial pages in the United States. Such captions as "We will imprison Saddam soon" or "Casualties are relatively low" and "The uprising is weak and desperate" are appropriate epitaphs for dead U.S. soldiers, as they reflect only the statements of those criminal fools who placed them in way of their graves, and for their own political profit, and no other reason.

Yeah? And? So? What?

I'd be more appalled if they were neutral on the occupation and recolonization of Iraq--or as you put it "supervision".

On the side, is there some comperable "Big Brother" type of org that lords itself over as a "Jewish Media Watch"? What would people think of that? I think you know the answer. Oh, my.

19. Another position on Iraq
can be expressed in an acceptable way. Mocking the deaths of American soldiers in doing so is repulsive.

20. "an acceptable way" = Minitru Duckspeaker
I don't understand your surprise here. Palestinians will not sit by passively and watch a sister act companion of the occupation and colonization of Palestine writ large in Iraq.

Perhaps to be safe, they should pass all potential thoughts by their "supervisors" first, to be sure they are acceptable to feel.. :eyes:
