U.S. imposes sanctions on Gaza institutions over Hamas links
The U.S. Treasury said on Thursday it imposed sanctions against two firms in Gaza -- Islamic National Bank and Al-Aqsa Television -- for their ties to the ruling Hamas movement.

The Treasury said the sanctions prohibit Americans from transactions with the designated entities and seek to freeze any assets they may have under U.S. jurisdiction.

The Treasury previously blacklisted Hamas, which rules Gaza, as a "specially designated global terrorist" organization.

It said the sanctions were imposed against Islamic National Bank, opened by Hamas in April 2009, for providing financial services to Hamas members and employees, including members of its military wing. The Treasury said the bank lacks a legal license from the Palestinian Monetary Authority and operates outside the legitimate financial system.

1. Must be a promise made to Mr. NatanYahoo.....quid pro quo ....
...and I was naive enough to believe that our State Department wanted to expose the religious right of NatanYahoo's Israel.

What a disappointment!

8. Fox News?
Pretty sure they are wrong:

No Netanyahu-Obama meeting scheduled

WASHINGTON (JTA) -- No meeting with President Obama has been scheduled for Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu's visit to the United States.

Obama administration officials rejected a Fox News report Friday that the two leaders would meet in the Oval Office on Tuesday; nothing has been scheduled yet, the officials told JTA.

11. Check it out - you and Fox News were right!
Netanyahu and Obama to meet Tuesday in Washington

Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu on Sunday accepted an invitation extended by the U.S. special envoy to the Middle East to meet with President Barack Obama in Washington this week.

Netanyahu is set to leave for the United States on Sunday evening and is expected to meet Obama on Tuesday, said government spokesman Mark Regev.
