Israeli fire kills 2 in southern Gaza
<snip>

"Israeli artillery fire killed two Palestinians in the southern Gaza Strip late Friday afternoon, witnesses said.

Others sustained injuries amid fierce clashes between resistance fighters and Israeli forces east of Khan Younis, onlookers said.

Muawiya Hassanein, director of ambulance and emergency services in Gaza, said two were killed. Hassanein said ambulances were dispatched to the area to evacuate victims, but Israeli forces denied them access.

Following reports that two soldiers were killed, Israeli warplanes shelled open areas east of Khan Younis, while Appache helicopters were spotted flying overhead.

Hamas' military wing, the Al-Qassam Brigades, said its forces killed two soldiers and injured another after Israeli forces entered the Gaza Strip for reasons that were not clear."

Hamas or in reality the Palestinians have no right to defend themselves against an incursion from a hostile military force? MSNBC reports that there was an explosion in the Khan Younis area if so then as the rulers of Gaza it was up to Hamas to investigate that and deal with it why does Israel have the very singular right to self defense here, are the Palestinians allowed to invade Israel in retaliation for every attack made on Palestinians by Israelis?

3. cynical? Maybe........
But I've been waiting for this, too. And, of course, there is no mention that the border that the Israelis are "defending" happens to be on occupied territory, now is there?

10. Israel ends Gaza incursion
<snip>

"Israel has ended its incursion into the Gaza Strip a day after its military was involved in a deadly clash with Hamas, the Palestinian faction that rules the territory.

Troops and tanks left Gaza on Saturday after the bloodiest clash in 14 months killed two Israeli soldiers and at least one Palestinian, witnesses said.

The fighting was the fiercest since Israel fought with Hamas in a three-week offensive last year that killed at least 1,400 Palestinians, mainly civilians, and 13 Israelis, mainly troops."
