Turkish protesters try to storm Israeli consulate in Istanbul
From: http://www.cjbk.com/news/56/1143080/turkish+protesters+try+to+storm+israeli+consulate+in+istanbul

By: The Associated Press

ANKARA, Turkey - Turkish police blocked dozens of stone-throwing protesters who tried to storm the Israeli Consulate in Istanbul over reports of an Israeli attack on at least one aid ship in international waters on Monday, news channels reported.

CNN-Turk and NTV showed dozens of angry protesters scuffling with Turkish police guarding the consulate in downtown Istanbul.

"Damn Israel," the protesters shouted.

The Israeli military denied that its forces attacked the boats but said they would enforce the decision to keep them away from Gaza.

Two TV networks reported earlier that Israeli warships attacked the six ships carrying pro-Palestinian activists and aid for blockaded Gaza, killing at least two and wounding an unknown number of people on board.

"We were not expecting such an operation in international waters," Omer Faruk Korkmaz, an official of the pro-Islamic aid group, IHH, that led the aid shipment said in Turkey. "Israel has been caught redhanded and the international community will not forgive it."

------------------------------

AJE has a reporter at the site who said that several windows were broken but that after the arrival of the riot police the demo turned into some kind of mass praying event. Seems that promoting religious craziness, both within and without, must be Israel and the US's hidden agenda, since that is what their actions have been producing for many decades.

4. Funny thing about that?
The Israeli government actively denies that there was ever an Armenian genocide, and peddles Turkey's line of "bad things happen in war"

Just thought I'd point that out. Enjoy your otherwise irrelevant comment (Really? It's open season on Turks because of the events of 1915? Jesus...)

3.  Bullies don't think
this could be the stray that breaks the camels back.If those ships were in international waters,America can not defend Israel this time. This could very well be the beginning of world war three.

5. That they were serious.
What were the "activists" thinking?

Violently resisting in waters they were told to say out of?

6. They're called international waters for a reason
And they are entitled to resist an act of piracy by the IDF.

7. I think it probably isn't.
What I suspect they were thinking was "we enjoy carte blanche support from the USA and the rest of the world; no matter what we do there will be no serious repercussions", and I think they were almost certainly quite right to think that.
