Hamas minister: We'll occupy Haifa, Akko
Fathi Hamas, Gaza's interior minister, visits Khan Younis University and threatens to seize Israeli cities with help of 'armies from all around the world.' Israelis and Americans won't be satisfied with any concessions, he says in message to Palestinian President Abbas

As Israel and the Palestinians attempt to renew direct peace talks launched last week, Hamas continues its declarations of war: The Hamas government's interior minister in Gaza, Fathi Hamad, said Monday that the Palestinians "will reoccupy Haifa and Akko."

1. I can't understand how certain 'peace' activists think it's a good idea to include Hamas...
...in real peace negotiations.

2. Is it better that we include the side that has all the nukes? (NT)

6. Red herring.
Israel already made peace deals with Egypt and Jordan, withdrew from Lebanon and Gaza, and have made credible offers for peace in 2000 and 2008 that were similar to the Geneva Accord.

Nukes have nothing to do with anything.

9. Withdrew from Gaza and blockaded it.
And how are those settler-occupied territories going?

10. Withdrew from Gaza only to get rockets in response, and THEN they blockaded Gaza.
Did you know Olmert had plans to disengage from the W.Bank in the same manner Gaza was, but changed course after getting rockets in response?

Imagine if Gaza chose to be peaceful.

3. The peace of the grave is still peace.
So, Hamas clearly wants peace.

4. Comment section below that link...
is rather interesting. One commenter said that the term used meant to liberate not occupy.

Better to have HAMAS at the bargaining table where they can be watched.

Maybe this is just a simple ploy. Years from now, after the avenging armies of the world have liberated a number of cities, why HAMAS can then demand a retreat to the borders of 2010 instead of '67.

Popcorn time.

Hamas official: We are on way to liberate Haifa, Acre

Anyone have a link to the actual text of the speech in Arabic?

7. We negotiated with the North Veitnamese...while they were killing us.
I see not problem with having Hamas at the negotiating table, as long as we are honest about their real goals. Ultimatly, in their world view there can be no state of Israel at all.

Equally, the current Israeli government doesn't seem to be serious about negotiating.

Never the less, there should be negotiations.
