5. Well, I looked up Halitza, and don't

see that it has anything to do with the OP. My response was not based on any knowledge about Orthodox Judaism, but simply a reaction to the statement "Any Jewish woman who goes with an Arab should be killed", which strikes me as somewhat on a par with the concept of honor killings. Maybe those words mean something different in Orthodox Judaism. :shrug:

I think my comment may have come across the wrong way - I may have chosen the wrong word.

Traditional Orthodox Judaism has a lot of practices that most people in the modern world would find rather offensive - especially with respect to the way that women are treated in some of these rituals which are relics from a less enlightened time but are still practiced though (often) only nominally.
