Boy hurt in Gaza rocket attack on Israeli bus dies of his wounds
The teenager who was critically wounded after Gaza militants launched an anti-aircraft missile at a school bus in southern Israel earlier this month succumbed to his wounds Sunday.

16-year-old Daniel Viflic died in the Soroka Medical Center in Be'er Sheva after his condition seriously deteriorated last week.

The missile hit the bus traveling near Kibbutz Sa'ad just moments after it had dropped off the rest of the school children, wounding Viflic and the bus driver, who was moderately wounded by shrapnel wounds in his leg.

"Sadly, Daniel passed away this afternoon," said Professor Shaul Sofer, the director of the intensive care unit at the Soroka Medical Center. "It wasn't a surprise for us. He arrived in critical condition and shortly afterward his brain stopped functioning. Due to the sensitive nature of the event, we continued treatments despite knowing that he had no chance of recovery."

1. Daniel and Vittorio: The Guardian’s selective empathy
The murder, at the hands of Islamists, of anti-Israel activist, ISM member, and Hamas supporter, Vittorio Arrigoni on April 15th was reported extensively by the Guardian...

...Inversely, Israeli teen, Daniel Viflic, who died on Sunday, April 18, as the result of brain injures sustained by shrapnel from a Hamas missile, has not been noted at all by the Guardian.

Vittorio Arrigoni was an extremist political activist whose hatred for Israel had no boundaries, who posted anti-Semitic messages and imagery on his Facebook page, and aligned himself politically with reactionary, violent, Islamist movements such as Hamas.

Daniel Viflic was an innocent 16-year-old Jewish civilian, a Yeshiva student from Bet Shemesh who was murdered when the yellow school bus he was riding on was targeted by a Hamas missile.

The near lionization of Vittorio, in contrast to the callous disregard of Daniel, is a perfect illustration of the puerile romanticism of Palestinian “resistance” on one hand, and the political abstraction that Israelis have become on the other, for those under the spell of the rigid ideology of the Guardian Left.

2. Ditto the NY Times...
In contrast, the Times has quoted no such kind words about Daniel Viflic, the schoolboy who was so gravely wounded in the Hamas bus attack a few days ago (and who died on April 17). In fact his name has never graced the pages of the New York Times (according to Nexis and google searches). The Times did mention the bus attack in their article on Arrigoni, but only as a vehicle to generate more sympathy for the Italian, who was worried that the attack by his Hamas friends would provoke a response from the Israeli army:

In an e-mail to , he wrote, “I am very tense, exhausted, if don’t kill anyone in the next 24 hours, I am getting out Thursday. Your V.”

So for the morally obtuse New York Times, a terror attack against a schoolbus that left a young boy mortally wounded, ends up being used to evoke sympathy for a defender of the terrorists who carried out the attack.

Milani is the “Israel / Occupied Territories Co-ordinator of the Italian section of Amnesty International”.

10. You don't have any problem with Arrigoni's hateful bigotry and warmongering?
Or with the Amnesty representative's support of that?

11. That is your opinion of Arrigoni yet you state it as fact repeatedly
oh ya I checked around a few right leaning they seem not to much like Obama either proIsrael blogs seem to share that opinion but most seem to feel his death a tragedy, perhaps you should check out his book

12. So in addition to the no dogs, no Israelis - the poster about IDF re-crucifying Jesus on Arrigoni's
...Facebook page isn't bigoted in your opinion?

Nor do you have a problem with his one-state solution, solidarity with the Hamas head?

14. RIP Daniel Viflic.
Condolences to his family.

To hell with all terrorists who attack civilians.

(And it isn't a competition between Daniel Viflic and Vittorio Arrigoni. Both deaths are tragic; both were caused by callous murderers.)
