Russia sends envoy to Middle East to support Road Map

Russian Foreign Minister Igor Ivanov has instructed A. Kalugin, who is a special representative of the Russian foreign minister for the Middle East peace process, to depart for the Middle East on January 10. The Department of Information and Press of the Foreign Ministry reported that in cooperation with other members of the group of four international mediators, Kalugin would continue the work on promoting the Road Map, intended to stop confrontation in the Palestinian-Israeli relations and to support general normalization of the situation in the Middle East.
