Israel and India close to agreement on UAVs
Globes Online

The two countries might also jointly develop new UAVs.

"Defense News" reports that India and Israel are close to an agreement on the joint manufacture of Israeli unmanned aerial vehicles (UAVs) in India. The agreement will cover Israel Aircraft Industries (IAI) Heron and Searcher 2 UAVs. The two countries might also jointly develop new UAVs.

Indian Ministry of Defence officials said technology transfer issues were not yet settled. Discussions on joint manufacture of UAVs began during Prime Minister Ariel Sharon visit to New Delhi in September 2003.

5. Some people have been known to object
to Israel having allies, trading partners, etc.

is automatically evil and Israel hating. Aha

10. If there is no valid objection
Then those options must be considered.

11. Thus far
no one has made a clear objection.

However, to your point, many but not all people who raise objections to virtually everything Israel does are both evil and Israel hating.

22. Let me help you with that
I do not hate Israel or reflexively criticize everything that it does. Therefore, I do not fit anywhere in the described category.

13. I thought
they already had drones taking pictures of extrajudicial assassinations (They made one (unconvincing, since there was a blank-out period) video sequence available recently).

But no, why did we bother about South Africa, either?

Let's cut to the chase - all this stuff has military weapons-of-mass-destruction application. Israel, in effect, is exporting WMDs. It bothers me, even some Knesset memebers.

16. Aerial vehicles are aerial vehicles
If you want to use them to drop WMD, whether they are manned or not is of little consequence. Your post is a wild overreaction.

19. Wheels
also have "military weapons-of-mass-destruction application." So do parachutes. So do ball bearings. So do digital timers and buttons.

Can't have suitcase nukes without suitcases.

Boycott Samsonite!!!

Global majors set to attend Indian defense expo

NEW DELHI - With India's Defense Ministry wanting more than a Rs 250 billion (US$5.5 billion) outlay for armament acquisitions, international weapons majors are making an unprecedented beeline for the fourth Indian Defense Expo beginning here on February 4.

Leading the pack are the Israeli defense industries, which have over the past three years bagged contracts worth more than $2 billion. The have sold to India the Travor range of infantry arms, high and medium altitude Unmanned Aerial Vehicles, in which Tel Aviv is the world leader, as well as anti-infiltration devices like unattended ground sensors.

18. Considering they both fight Muslim extremists
It is only natural that Israel would try to sell defense products to India.

Israel and India are natural allies, as are Turkey and Israel. Countries in the thick of the fight against Islamists are going to work together.

25. Let me emphasize
and I am a bit ticked off about this:

The article heading is: "Defense News": Israel and India close to agreement on UAVs

which gives it a very different spin.

I hope the moderators throw in their two cents' worth.
