Pull the plug on 'Snow White'
By unplugging the lighting of the Snow White "artwork" that portrays in a positive light the suicide bomber who killed 21 Israelis, Israel's ambassador to Sweden, Zvi Mazel, spotlighted the ugly face of hypocrisy and anti-Semitism.

Dror Feiler, the dubious artist, grew up in the communist kibbutz of Yad Hanna. To this day, the children of Stalin hate Israel and champion world revolution. Ex-Israeli Feiler went to live in Sweden many years ago, constantly attacked the Jewish state, and has now produced his Palestinian monstrosity.

In the 1930s when two Jews – in order to arouse world opinion – attacked Nazi diplomats in Switzerland and France, other Jews condemned them. In the face of the blindness of Jewish intellectuals at that time, most of European Jewry awoke too late to avoid the flames of the crematoria.

In the 1930s Jews did not have a state even as Hitler used "art" as a propaganda tool that portrayed Jews as disease-spreading rats that had to be destroyed.

1. Israel should instruct all its ambassadors to vandalize art

that displeases them. It is time to send a clear message to the world that rogue states who permit the creation and display of art that is not approved by the Israeli government will face severe punishment.

Perhaps most disturbing of all is Sweden's reference to its "constitution," a document that has needless to say, been flagrantly enacted without authorization from Tel Aviv.

A little research reveals the chilling fact that Sweden is not unique in this regard, it appears that quite a few nations have taken it upon themselves to adopt "constitutions" similar to Sweden's, in many cases without consulting Israel at all.

It now falls to the US congress to pass an emergency bill to immediately provide the funds Israel will need to effect an immediate and overwhelming military solution to this problem.

4. Maybe I remember incorrectly
I don't believe the artwork(?) was vandalized at all, which would mean your title is mis-leading.

5. The ambassador says he pushed the artwork's spotlight into a swimming pool

I should have made clear that this would be considered vandalism if done to an artwork in an Israeli gallery.

7. My question is this
Besides the mis-leading headline in your original post, hasn't this topic been discussed ad nauseum?

It is a thread started for God knows what reason. There is been more crap written about this piece of shit and the whole incident than serious comment on the Mona Lisa.

With all the serious problems going on in the ME, is this ludicrous incident worth 10 cents of your time or my time?

Enough is enough.

8. The entire phrase "which would be considered vandalism if done to an

artwork in an Israeli gallery" wouldn't fit in the subject line.

12. He saw red
I did not want to start another thread on this, but this
seemed worth putting up, for the history and for the alternate
viewpoint. Somewhat long.

Pnina Feiler remembers the smell of the blood
of wounded men at the hospital where she
worked as a nurse in 1948. Today, at Kibbutz
Yad Hannah, she expresses pride in her son
Dror, whose artwork was vandalised by Israel's
ambassador to Sweden.

"Oy vey - now we're not going to get anything.
Now they're just going to fuck us! Sharon will
screw us royally. I know him only too well,"
Laika, an 80-year-old kibbutz member,
whispered to a young man who was sharing
confidences with her near the dining hall.
"Don't worry," the young man tried to calm her
down. "At the very most, if they don't give us
the land, the Swedish government will
compensate us and maybe also they'll start
sending back to us young Swedish women to
work here as volunteers." But Laika,
embittered by Kibbutz Yad Hannah's war of
survival, derived little comfort from his words.
"Once again, we have to suffer because of
Pnina. Why can't she just keep her mouth shut
once in a while?!"

The Pnina in question is Pnina Feiler, mother
of Dror Feiler. The artistic creation jointly
produced by this Israeli-born musician and his
Swedish-born wife Gunilla Skoeld, "Snow
White and the Madness of Truth," generated
the storm of the week in Israel and chilled
diplomatic relations with Sweden.

13. That is wrong on so many levels.
First of all, the artist explained that the art was not promoting anti-semitism, but was trying to portray how things were.

Second, living in a place ruled by Stalin does not make the resident like Stalin.
