US Senate approves 2005 Israel aid package
http://www.globes.co.il/serveen/globes/docview.asp?did=764603&fid=942

<snip>

"US aid to Israel for the 2005 fiscal year passed its final hurdle on Thursday. The Senate passed the foreign aid appropriations bill, including aid to Israel, as part of a package of appropriations for most government agencies. President George W. Bush is expected to sign the bill this week.

The full amount of aid is will be deposited in the Bank of Israel account in New York shortly after the president's signature. The aid package will not be included in the Israeli government's budget for 2004.

Israel is due to receive $2.68 billion in aid: $2.2 billion in military aid and $480 million in civilian aid. $15.7 million, or 0.59%, will be deducted from this amount, under an across-the-board budget cut imposed on all items in the appropriations bill."

<snip>

" Each year, Israel receives the largest share of US foreign aid, which totals $17 billion in the current fiscal year. Egypt is the second largest recipient of aid, with $1.9 billion. Jordan receives $464 million, after the 0.59% deduction.
In addition to the annual aid, the US has provided Israel with $9 billion in loan guarantees over three years, or $3 billion a year."

1. 2,2 billion MILITARY aid
for demolishing Palestinian property (civilian houses included). That's all from your taxpayer money...

2. dunno. Rove may order them to use some of that to invade Syria

or Iran. But US assets are currently stretched, and the Israeli ones will need to be deployed in the crusade to defend Halliburton's right to a really spectacular 2nd quarter.

Destroying Palestinians and their property may have to be outsourced. Or maybe the settlers can do it. They work for housing vouchers.

3. It's worth noting that this is a declining amount,
in depreciating dollars. The loan guarantees compensate
somewhat, but they are also denominated in a depreciated dollar.
