Ha'aretz (Tuesday): Final prisoner swap list drawn up
From Ha'aretz (Jerusalem)
Dated Tuesday January 27

Final prisoner swap list drawn up; Dirani, Obeid to be moved today
By Haaretz Staff

Preparations for Thursday's prisoner exchange with Hezbollah moved into high gear yesterday.
The defense establishment finalized the list of the 400 Palestinians due to be released as part of the swap, although as of press time last night, the list had not yet been posted on the Prisons Service's web site. The list is slated to be up by this morning.
Israeli sources said only some 150 of the Palestinians are convicted offenders; the remainder are administrative detainees. Among the offenders, all have less than three years left to serve, and none have "blood on their hands."
Palestinian sources said that while they have yet to receive a definitive list, the information they have received so far indicates that all of those due to be released were convicted of relatively minor offenses, such as entering Israel illegally, maintaining membership in a terrorist organization, stone-throwing, or throwing Molotov cocktails. That has created disappointment among Palestinians, who were hoping for the release of serious offenders, long-term prisoners and prominent political figures.

1. The lists are up
http://list.ips.gov.il

As the article notes, most of the offenses are a joke.1

BTW, Ma'ariv notes that 3 of those to be released (not Palestinians) have "blood on their hands". Convicted for killing IDF personnel.2

-----

1. For example, prisoner 904070810, who has served 40 months imprisonment. He was convicted by military court in Samaria for throwing stones/molotovs (in occupied territory). A henious crime if ever there was one.

2. Ma'ariv, 27 Jan 2004 (3am update).
