Israeli Military Blows Up Attacker's Home

JERUSALEM - Israeli forces briefly raided the West Bank town of Bethlehem on Friday and dynamited the home of a Palestinian who blew up a Jerusalem bus — stopping far short of a large-scale reprisal customary after a deadly suicide attack.

Israel's leadership was divided over how hard to hit back but appeared to have decided on a measured response after a meeting Thursday between Prime Minister Ariel Sharon and Defense Minister Shaul Mofaz.

-------------

They really need to target the leaders and bomb makers. Let's hope that is forthcoming soon.

1. Meaningless.
Blowing up homes won't do a thing but turn families into "martyrs" that are revered and financially supported by their community.

2. Well done

Israel measures her response. This demolition sends a clear message on terror.

3. Ineffective.
I seriously doubt this tactic has prevented a single act of violence.

4. I agree with you
It is a pitiful response. It goes without saying that it is not nearly enough.

5. The message is in fact clear
Yes, the message is very clear. "Corruption of blood," an idea reviled by the founders of the American government, is perfectly legitimate in Israel.

8. I have to disagree with you Herschel
The message is not clear enough. If it was Yassin's or Rantissi's homes that were demolished, with them in it, THAT would have been a clear message.
