Suwad family blasts UN for cooperating in kidnapping
The Suwad family Monday lashed out at the United Nations Interim Force in Lebanon (UNIFIL) for its conduct during and after the kidnapping of the three Israeli soldiers three years ago, accusing it of cooperating with Hezbollah in the kidnapping.

Hezbollah returned the body of the Suwads' son Omar last Thursday along with the bodies of two other Israeli soldiers.

"UNIFIL did not answer how the soldiers were killed. They stood only 150 meters away from where it happened and so cooperated with the kidnappers. Later they failed to hand over a tape documenting the incident," a family member told President Moshe Katsav, who came to console the Suwads in their Salameh home.

The UNIFIL were closer to the soldiers than any ISM to Rachel Corrie and the bulldozer. Yet, nothing was done to save the IDF soldiers from their captors.

2. Unbelievable...
I can't believe you just referred to UNIFIL troops as 'dogs.' I'm sure the families of the 244 UNIFIL troops killed in Lebanon while attempting to keep peace appreciate your insulting remarks.

3. They stood only 150 meters away from where it happened and did nothing.
They did absolutely nothing to help these soldiers. That is the crime. Any human who would see another human being getting murdered and that is what those in question did AND DO NOTHING??!?!

4. I suppose you have proof of this?
I've read several versions of what happened that day. None of them mentioned anything about UNIFIL troops standing idly nearby watching things go down. I guess you need someone to blame though. God forbid anyone should accuse the sainted IDF of being negligent in allowing these men to be kidnapped.

5. UN observer status
The problem with Peace Keepers in this situation, or in the I/P conflict is that they don't interfere when the Hizbollah or other terrorists commit crimes (in a time of peace, killing soldiers is forbidden). They can do whatever they want. Israel is prohibited from acting in response.
