"Attorney General Menachem Mazuz held his first meeting with senior State Prosecution staff on Tuesday on two pending cases against Prime Minister Ariel Sharon - the Greek island affair and Cyril Kern affair.

Mazuz and the senior staff set out an action plan for completing their handling of the Greek island case.

In the wake of the indictment against businessman David Appel, who is suspected of bribing the prime minister in the Greek island affair, the investigation of Sharon in the matter is expected to be completed by focusing mainly on what the prime minister allegedly gave Appel in exchange for bribes. Sharon is suspected of using his influence to allow building on land purchased by Appel in the Lod area.

Sharon is due to be questioned about the affair on Thursday. The prime minister is expected to be asked about the alleged bribe he received from Appel to advance the Lod development project."
