Israel to Invest Millions in West Bank
Israel to Invest Millions in West Bank

JERUSALEM - Israel will invest tens of millions of dollars in West Bank settlements even as it pulls out of the Gaza Strip (news - web sites) and a few other settlements, Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu (news - web sites) said Monday.

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon (news - web sites) has proposed removing all settlements in Gaza, as well as four in the West Bank, and rapidly completing a separation barrier Israel is building in the West Bank.

Palestinians fear the move will strengthen Israel's hold over the rest of the West Bank, which they want as part of a future state.

Netanyahu announced his support for Sharon's plan Sunday, giving it a crucial boost in an upcoming referendum among the 200,000 members of Sharon's hard-line Likud party.

4. Exactly. Should read, "Israel to invest 1 million American taxpayer
dollars into West Bank".

Let me understand this: Last week I had to pay my income tax to the federal government because if I were late, I'd get a penalty or if I didn't, the IRS could auction my stuff and keep the money. So, I filed and paid on time.

But there are clusters of rich folk who have been excused from paying their fair share of taxes. They don't have to worry about jail or auctions or the IRS threatening them.

And the federal government takes my money and gives it to Israel without my permission and Israel takes my money to evict non-Jewish Israelis and/or Palestinians from their homes and to purchase bulldozers that destroy their homes and to purchase helicopters that drop bombs purchased with my tax money that assassinates succeeding leaders of Hamas. My money has been used to secure incredible misery upon a targeted population based upon racist principles.

And the punchline is that I should be glad about the so-called theoretical tax cut because without it, Israel would get MORE of my tax money to make more mischief.

This is Alice in Wonderland being carried out to the extreme.

11. Nauseating
While using our tax dollars to expand the "settlements," they are now begging more of our tax dollars to "re-settle" the dickheads from Gaza into the West Bank, all of which is explicitely for the purpose of forever denying the Palestinians a state and the right to self-determination, universally recognized by everyone in the world except America and the hapless state of Israel.

It is quite beyond disgusting.

3. I thought Israel was broke?
They keep saying they need more money from us, because the fight against terrorism has wrecked their economy.

So where are these millions coming from? From your tax dollars & my tax dollars.

What an outrage!

6. Isn't it obvious?
Israel does not want peace in any way. They want land and wealth, and we're helping them get it.

7. 1961 New flash: Russians to invest millions in Berlin!
Since when does building a huge wall to keep people in a ghetto and under military control count as an "investment"?

9. Israel to pour fortune into West Bank settlements
Jerusalem — Israel will invest tens of millions of dollars in West Bank settlements even as it pulls out of the Gaza Strip and a few other settlements, Finance Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said Monday.

His proposal would contradict the U.S.-backed "road map" peace plan, which requires Israel to freeze settlement construction.

Israeli Prime Minister Ariel Sharon has proposed removing all settlements in Gaza, as well as four in the West Bank, and rapidly completing a separation barrier Israel is building in the West Bank. Palestinians fear the move will strengthen Israel's hold over the rest of the West Bank, which they want as part of a future state.
